I have been taking a Creative Writing class as many of you should know. I’m taking this to help me with my game creations…so I can make better stories and so on. Any ways, I needed to pick my favorite writing so far from the class and finish it, so I decided to let you guys see it too. Finally the class is paying off… though I might have been a little exuberant in writing it…does that work for totd? i don’t know, oh well. Here it is any ways.

Stan the Viking

There once was a Viking from Hitu
His ship was sailing to Peru
So widely feared
With a ten inch beard
And he shrank at the sight of tattoos

The Viking’s name, he was called Stan
He never grew much of a tan
For in the North
Tans have no growth
But many a cold climate do span

Once his ship found land and docked
He needed villagers to loot and sock
Many a Viking
Do Love a’taking
And rare will one upon a door knock

On his way into Peru proper
The Viking Stan’s heart went a flutter
For he found a lass
Sitting ‘pon the grass
And her smile was none the sweeter

Imminent pillaging left Stan’s mind
As he desired to be kind
Approached her
And asked for
Her name, so he could court some time

They spent their day together
And began to love each other
Until the girl
In a twirl
Fell to the ground, and he with her

Stan could not be happier on the ground
With the girl, from Peru the town
Now Stan spurns
For her shirt she torn
The Viking’s world spun around

There once was a young lass from Peru
She had found a Viking from Hitu
Though she would wed
But he had fled
For on her belly lay a tattoo!

Tim came over yesterday and we played magic the gathering, something we haven’t done in way too long. We ran out of competition. We don’t see those we used to play with on a daily basis, and those that we do see are too big a jerk to want to play with them. Playing magic with each other is just too boring, we make our decks against each other, and eventually they become so awe-inspiring its usually about who is drawing best. Though this wasn’t the case yesterday. I used all my premade decks and was getting bored. I found one of my packs of lands that come with a starter that I haven’t opened for some reason. It gave me an idea, so I reached into my magic card box blindly and grabbed a completely random handful of card…and I beet Tim’s deck with it! Granted he drew horribly and I drew a lot better than I should have. Heh, it had one goblin who had the ability that when you sacrifice another goblin it gets something like +1/+0…it was the only goblin in the deck!

Good times, good times.

( 506 +25 totd = 531! )
